I'm planning to re-enact the famous spacebattle scene in Moonraker for ST:BC. Many thanks goes to Michael_gr, Donany (modelers) and Dennis (textures). Looks pretty aside from the lettering error, but hells yea great idea! now all we need is the ISS. #7 - Posted by: SuperSmeg (FileFront Network Staff) on 03-21-2009 at 18:18Īnd the comment that ACES_HIGH posted is true aswell. It is very often referred to as STBC or BC. It features a single player story and various multiplayer modes. It puts you in command of your own Starfleet starship and crew.

I'd like to deicate this mod to the memory of Brian the Space Bat.Īlthough I had no part in the construction of this mod, It reminded me of Brian, who died clinging onto the fuel tank of the 'Discovery' orbiter on 15th March 2009. This game is a space combat simulation set in the Star Trek: Next Generation universe. #6 - Posted by: SuperSmeg (FileFront Network Staff) on 03-21-2009 at 17:39 #5 - Posted by: ACES_HIGH (BC Files Staff) on 03-21-2009 at 17:37Īsside from the name being reversed on both sides somehow, this is an amazing model, Real shuttle textures would be awesome The cell phone, the microchip, the warp core, etc.
The second I saw this I was like, "OMG, NO WAY!"Ī warp capable space shuttle.next gen in Human exploration, I wouldn't be surprised if NASA stole this from you to complete the 'Star Trek' effect in real world science. I never thought I would see a good orbiter model for Bridge Commander.Ī few fuel tanks, a MVAM script and real shuttle registeries would be awesome for this now. The Dominion Captured Sovereign for example. #3 - Posted by: SuperSmeg (FileFront Network Staff) on 03-21-2009 at 16:04 Here is the first wing commander ship pack, it contains several ships from the game imported to Bridge Commander. #2 - WOW!!! - Posted by: jabberman (Member) on 03-21-2009 at 15:58Ī Space Shuttle!!! Damn! All you need to do now is to whip up textures for the REAL Shuttles. More akin to naval combat, or submarine warfare, it requires a heightened sense of tactics and strategy. #1 - Awesome - Posted by: K1NKi (Member) on 03-21-2009 at 15:52 Combat in Star Trek': Bridge Commander' is unlike that in most space combat simulations. Here are some comments to this model from some members of : Have a look at these beautiful 2048x2048 textures:
You can probably find it on eBay.The Spaceshuttle Moonraker as seen in 007 James Bond Moonraker with friendly assistance of the Orbiter Spaceflightsimulator comunity. The game is now nearly impossible to find in stores though it is a must buy. And it is fun to see how you can exploit the weak spots in a large, powerful vessel and destroy it with a small, weak one. However, it is very fun to start massive battles in Quick Battle mode, with 4 or more ships on each side. The AI in this game is on the stupid side, leaving some of the single player feeling slightly shallow.

The combat model is also very complex and satisfying, though it lacks skin shields for TMP era vessels (I don't blame them, as the stock game only has TNG era ships) The game is constantly being modded and updated by the community with new scripts - and things that were once thought impossible to do with the BC engine are being done by the incredible scripting community. The game begins with a standard mission, the Galaxy-class starship USS Dauntless (NCC-71879) is in orbit of a planet in the Vesuvi system.

And you can go upside down and roll in whichever direction with ease. Browse and play mods created for Star Trek: Bridge Commander at Mod DB. Also, this game stays true to actual space physics - when a ship's engines are disabled, it continues to drift, instead of stopping. The damage modeling is great, and with mods like NanoFX, explosions are absolutely spectacular. While the default ship models aren't very good by today's standards, the actual graphics engine is quite good and, with some spiffy new ship models, can look photorealistic. Loads of addon ships, effects, systems, and more give the game massive replay value, and the online play can be very fun.
